We all know how important it is to drink water. If you don’t know, you can read this post to find out why water should be your BFF. I promised y’all a post on how to spice up your water so here it is!
For some people, drinking just plain water can get boring. That’s no excuse to push it aside for a soda though. There are plenty of things that you can do to spice up your water and make it delicious!
Adding fruit is by far my favorite way to make my water more interesting. The combinations are endless. When I make fruit water, I start with cold water and add in sliced up fruit about 1-2 hours before I want to drink it. I don’t like to make too much at one time, because the fruit starts to get too soggy and I like to eat the fruit once the water is gone. If you like soggy fruit feel free to make this water the night before you want to drink it. I like to give the fruit a few hours to really let its juices mix in with the water. That way when I drink it, I get a hint of the flavor but it’s not overload.
Here are some of my favorites:
The lemon & blueberry combo is a good one if you need a jolt for your tastebuds. It’s more tart tasting.
The lime & strawberry combo helps satisfy my sweet tooth.
And the cucumber & mint combo is ridiculously refreshing. I love drinking it after a good workout.
I try to stay away from pre-flavored water because Lord knows what all was put in it to give it that sweet flavor. I prefer making my own…plus I think it tastes more fresh when you make it yourself (:
