Happy Mmm Monday! I’m planning on killing my workouts this week and sticking to healthy eats…which will include TONS of strawberries. I live REALLY close to Plant City, which is known as the Winter Strawberry Capital…which means that I have access to sweet, juicy, delicious strawberries right now. If you don’t know, I have a major sweet tooth, and I like to eat fruit rather than cakes/candy/donuts/insert your favorite dessert here to tame that sweet tooth of mine. Strawberries definitely do the trick for me (: And the best part is that I don’t feel guilty eating them because of the fabulous health benefits that come along with eating them:
See what I mean? Not to mention that they’re known for their anti-aging properties, they help lower cardiovascular disease, ease inflammation, and promote good eye health (source). I could go on…strawberries anyone?!
I whipped up a really simple and delicious recipe using this superfood to share with y’all: A Waistline Friendly Strawberry Sorbet! I had to Google the difference between sherbet and sorbet and this is what I came up with: Sorbet does not contain diary and sherbet contains dairy. SO since my recipe uses almond milk (which is a substitute for dairy milk that does not contain cholesterol or lactose) I went ahead and decided that this is a sorbet! It’s a sweet treat that is so simple to make. Plus it’s fiancé, Granddad, and Daddy approved…mission accomplished!
Here’s what you’ll need:
- 5-7 strawberries – frozen
- 1/2 of a banana – sliced & frozen
- 1/2 of an avocado (trust me…it helps smooth out the texture and you don’t taste it)
- 1/2 cup of vanilla almond milk
- 1/2 teaspoon of natural vanilla
- 1 teaspoon of stevia – optional…for the people who really have a sweet tooth (like me!)
Here’s how I made it:
- Blend all of the almond milk with half of the ingredients.
- Once the mixture is well blended, mix in the other half of the ingredients.
- Let it sit in the freezer for 10-20 minutes (or eat as is if you’re really impatient).
This makes plenty for 2 people to share a sweet treat, maybe even 3 depending on how big your sweet tooth is (; Feel free to adjust this recipe based on your preferences…maybe use a whole banana, more or less berries, more or less milk. My Grandma liked to take hers out of the freezer and let it thaw out for a few minutes before she ate it…she likes it softened up. Make it your own, something that YOU enjoy!

I spend Sunday nights planning my workouts for the upcoming week. Here’s what this week looks like for me:
Monday: I’m test driving a full body workout that I wrote to share with you guys on Friday!
Tuesday: 30 minute HIIT (focus on plyometrics) & booty circuit
Wednesday: Bike 5-10 miles, ab circuit (I’m also shooting the Glisten intro video with my videographer today…yay!)
Thursday: Run 1 mile, Ultimate Core at my new gym (it’s basically a 45 minute full body strength/cardio workout)
Friday: 30 minute sprints, booty circuit
Saturday: REST DAY!
Sunday: Run 3 miles, ab circuit
Whatever you’ve got planned for your workouts, eating, or any other goals this week…YOU GOT THIS! Seriously, keep going. Push harder. Dream bigger. I believe in you, girl!
