Refreshing Green Juice

Hey y’all! One thing that I’ve been trying to do to make 2015 a fit and health year is drink 1 green juice or smoothie every day. It’s a quick and easy way to pack in a ton of veggies and nutrients that your body needs and loves.

I usually try to drink my juice after breakfast and before lunch. It’s my mid-morning pick me up (:

Please note that I am not a fan of “juice diets” …I think I would go absolutely crazy if I was living off of liquid for more than one meal. Plus I feel like drinking only juice is a good way to intake way too much sugar.

Oh and one more thing – I don’t really know what the difference technically is, but in my mind, a juice has a water base and a smoothie has a milk/juice base.

ANYWAY on to today’s green juice.

Refreshing Green Juice

This is the perfect juice if you need some refreshing. It reminds me of a drink that you would sip on while sitting in a spa lobby or something. Very light and crisp.

What You’ll Need:

  • 1 cup cold water
  • 1/2 cup ice
  • 1/2 cucumber (sliced)
  • 2 handfuls of spinach
  • 5 strawberries (sliced)
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds (adds healthy fat
  • 1 handful mint leaves
  • Juice of 1/4 of a lime

Refresh

What You’ll Do:

Toss everything into your high speed blender (I use a Vitamix and I’m obsessed…it’s amazing), blend, pour, and enjoy!
