Sometimes I just have to have a mint chocolate SOMETHING. I have a major sweet tooth so I’m always looking for ways to make sweet treats that aren’t going to sabotage all of my training. Enter: THE MINT CHOCOLATE PROTEIN SMOOTHIE. Yup…it’s as good as it sounds. And the best parts…it’s perfect for a post-workout treat AND it sneaks some greens into your day.
Honestly, I rarely make a smoothie without spinach. It’s so easy to mask the taste and makes getting all of your daily veggies in THAT much easier.
What You’ll Need:
- 2 handfuls spinach
- 1 frozen banana (I keep frozen bananas in my freezer at all times!)
- 1 scoop chocolate protein (I use whey)
- 1 tablespoon raw, unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 handful mint leaves
- 1 teaspoon chia seeds
- 1 cup of almond milk (I use vanilla flavor)
What You Do:
Mix everything together in a high speed blender (I love my Vitamix) and ENJOY!
I usually drink this smoothie after a heavy leg day – it’s got the protein and the carbs (the banana) that my muscles need after an intense workout.
