It’s No Secret That I Hate Running

Okay so hate may be a strong word. But let’s just say I don’t particularly enjoy running like I do lifting or HIIT workouts. So then I’m asked this question, “Well then why do you do it?” To be honest, a mile or so run is what I’ve found to be the best warm-up for my body. It doesn’t take terribly long, and it just gets my heart going. I feel ready to take on a full workout after a short run…so I do it to prepare myself to do what I actually enjoy (aka the lifting and HIIT workouts).

One thing that makes running a little bit more bearable for me is this:

That’s a Timex Ironman Run X20 Digital GPS Watch from Kohl’s. Why does this little gadget make running bearable for me? Because it tells me how far I’ve ran AND how many calories I’ve burned.

It’s fun to strap this on and try to beat my previous run. It keeps things interesting – it makes me feel like I’m running for a purpose. I like seeing what I’ve completed!

The watch is super lightweight and easy to navigate (good thing, because I am so not tech savvy when it comes to gadgets).

I love running and would love that watch! I’ve never bought any kind of gps/heart rate/whatever watch because of the price (and I’m not super tech savvy either), but that sure looks cute! 😉 Also, I did your 28-day challenge, and I want to thank you for all of your hard work putting together that book and continuing to produce blog posts. I can’t imagine the amount of effort it takes, but I am very grateful!

I need this in my life!! Especially since I’m trying my best to include running in my training schedule.. Being able to tell me how far I’ve gone is what got me.. If I don’t win, I might have to just buy one!! Thanks Jess!! Entered!!

Love the watch, especially the green one, sigh. I can see why you chose that one; though green is my happy workout color to. The blue one is still very pretty.

Love to run and this summer I’ve been getting more into it and trying to incorporate more lifting. I’ve been using runkeeper for several years, which is nice having the app, but it’s strapped to my arm which makes it hard to see and read how far I’ve gone and sometimes I’m impatient to wait until it talks to me to see how far I’ve gone, so having a cute wrist watch I can wear would be great or just to wear that when I’m going on a short run.

I was already following you and have used several of our workouts and quotes this last week. They’ve been very encouraging and inspiring. Thanks!
The only thing I didn’t do was follow on Twitter as I don’t use that platform.
