You Just Gotta Do It.Posted on July 29, 2014 at 12:01 am
Talking about making a change isn’t going to make a change.
Buying healthy food and staring at it sit in your fridge isn’t going to make a change.
Sitting on your couch in workout clothes isn’t going to make a change.
The bottom line? Excuses don’t produce results. Hard work does.
Sounds simple enough, right? You’ve got to figure out what your goals are and put your heart and mind to work in making those things happen. Some days are going to be easier than others. None of it is going to be easy though. You’re going to have to make sacrifices. You’re going to have to get uncomfortable. You’re going to have to push yourself to limits you didn’t know you had. You’re going to have to cling to the support system that’s around you.
But you know what? The feeling of accomplishing and then surpassing your goals is worth it. Your health is worth it. Your happiness is worth it. You are worth it.
I’m saying all of this because my husband (who, bless his heart, is not in fabulous shape but he DOES have a heart of gold) has decided to make some healthy changes in his life. He is working out 2 times a week with a trainer at the studio where I work (he doesn’t want me to be his trainer….probably best that way, ha!). He told me that he is waking up 30 minutes early to go jogging in the morning. He is giving up beer for 4 weeks. These may seem like small changes but y’all…they are HUGE for him, HUGE. And I couldn’t be more proud.
He’s been saying for awhile that he wants to look and feel better. He finally decided to DO it. He’s not going crazy. He set goals for himself and he is making them happen. And I’m going to be there to encourage him every step of the way. I want each of you to be the positive support system in someone else’s life. Make sure that you’re uplifting and encouraging people to reach their goals!
