Awhile ago I did a post about 4 keys to a successful health & fitness journey. One of those is to find time to enjoy yourself! Sounds easy right? WRONG. Sometimes we get so caught up in our day to day tasks that we forget to slow down for a few minutes and do something to re-energize ourselves. Filling your tank means doing something, big or small, that slows you down and makes you appreciate life…even when things are crazy busy.
Believe it or not, filling your tank is also a key part to a successful health & fitness journey! Keeping your tank full keeps you energized. More energy (usually) = better workouts. You want to be able to approach each workout with as much energy as possible so that you can give it all you’ve got.
So if that means putting the to-do list on hold for a little while then DO IT. Just make sure you’re taking time to fill your tank (:
Some ways that I fill up my tank:
- Drinking my coffee out of a cute mug in the morning
- Watching a movie on the couch with my husband
- Keeping fresh flowers in my living room
- Laying in the sunshine for a few minutes each week
- Walking my dog
- Reading a magazine on the porch with a glass of wine
I’m so serious that it is important to fill your tank on a regular basis. If not, you run the risk of crashing and burning. And who’s got time for that?!
