Balance. It’s something we all strive for but most of us never feel like we actually achieve. That’s probably because balance isn’t something that you reach one day and then remain there. It’s something you’ve got to work toward all the time. And it’s something I’ve been really focusing on getting better at.
I’m the type of person who goes ALL IN when I do something. I give 110%. Which makes achieving balance hard for me, because usually my focus is in one area. And lately (for like 2 years almost) that focus has been health and fitness. Obsessing over my workouts. Being cautious of everything I eat. I kind of got lost in health and fitness. Although I’m very passionate about it, I don’t want it to define me.
So I’ve been really trying to focus on spending time with my family, reading, hanging out outside without my phone. Just LIVING. And it’s been awesome. So here’s what I’ve been up to (:
Family birthday dinners.
Summertime country concerts.
Enjoying LOTS of iced coffee. Because Florida is HOT.
Lots of QT with my boys.
Finding cute little pineapples growing in our backyard.
Drinking tons of water from my cute new bottle.
Still making time for KILLER workouts.
I’m still working out regularly and eating mostly clean. I’m just not putting ALL of my time and energy into it so that I have some left for other areas of my life (: Don’t let yourself be consumed with health and fitness. It’s a part of you, yes, but it’s not ALL of you. Remember – you are strong. You are beautiful. You are enough.
