Let’s DO This, 2014!Posted on January 1, 2014 at 10:48 am
Happy New Year, babes! Did you have a memorable night ringing in 2014 and kicking 2013 to the curb? I spent my night lighting Christmas trees on fire with Adam & some friends. We started this tradition last year….we go around collecting Christmas trees and then have a massive bonfire. It’s really entertaining and it’s good that we’re all in one place and not having to brave the roads on NYE. Oh, and last night marked ONE YEAR since we brought our puppy, Buck, home (: So precious, I know. I can’t believe we’ve already had him for a year! It was crazy to compare pictures from last year and this year; he’s grown a ridiculous amount!
He’s precious, and I’m so glad that Adam surprised me by bringing him home last year! Good call, babe. Good freaking call. Okay, moving on to the REAL reason for this post:
I decided that instead of making a big New Year’s Resolution (I do have one small one…to start wearing matching undergarments, don’t judge me), that I wanted to choose a word that resonated with me and make that word really come to life for me in 2014. All of these words started floating around in my head: passion, fierce, intentional, bold, simplify, achieve…the list goes on. Then one small (but oh so powerful) word hit me and stuck out:
DO. I knew right then that “do” was going to be my word for 2014. (Not to be confused with “Do Luke Bryan” as some of y’all pointed out on Instagram, hahaha). 2014 for me means less planning. More doing. Less talking. More doing. Less watching. More doing. I will DO. Not to mention that I will be saying I DO to the man of my dreams this year…eeeek! I can’t wait!
What is your word for 2014? What are you going to make happen? Whatever it is, stick to it. You’ll be really glad that you did (: If anyone can achieve your goals, it’s you. You just have to be disciplined and really want it. I have faith in you! Comment below with your 2014 word!
Don’t forget that today starts the #jigglefreeJANUARY calendar! Today’s challenge is pretty simple…take a picture of yourself so you can use it to track your results each month. Because you WILL have results to track. Numbers don’t really do it for me. I actually hate stepping on the scale. I track my progress through pictures and by how I feel. It works for me, so maybe it will work for you. If I feel like I’m in a rut or plateauing, it helps to look back at the pictures and see how far I’ve come. It gives me that little boost of encouragement to keep going, to push harder, to work for what I want.
Time for me to go get a sweat sesh in. Today I have some cardio planned as well as a killer ab workout! Make time for the things that matter today y’all…take advantage of this fresh year!
