“I don’t want to workout.” – 5 Tips for Getting Motivated

I hear this ALL the time. And to be honest, sometimes I feel that way, too. Yeah that’s right…I don’t want to workout 24/7 (; Today I wanted to give you a few tips for when the, “I don’t want to workout” days happen.

1. Put on a cute workout outfit.

For some reason wearing a cute outfit as opposed to a ratty old t-shirt just amps me up to get my sweat on. I guess it’s the girly girl in me #hairflipemoji. Try putting on your fav workout outfit and see if that gets you in gear!

2. Try the “10” rule.

This is such an easy one and usually it works. Commit to working out for 10 minutes. If you still don’t want to workout after those 10 minutes then don’t. But 9 times out of 10 you’re gonna be feeling amazing and want to keep going!

3. Switch up your workout routine.

If you usually do strictly indoor workouts, maybe take your workout outside for a change of scenery. Or if you never take group classes, give one a shot. Spice it up…don’t let yourself get bored!

4. Make a new playlist.

Music is a make or break for my workouts. If I’m working out to a lame playlist, I don’t feel inspired or pumped up. Sometimes all it takes is a fresh set of beats to get you motivated.

5. Take a rest day.

Your body needs rest. If you’re not wanting to workout because your body feels run down and just exhausted, maybe you DO need a rest day. Rest days are just as important as workout days if you ask me (: I take 1 or 2 rest days per week.

The 10-minute rule is definitely my #1 tool for doing a workout I’m not excited to start. I don’t think I have ever quit after getting that far. In fact, I even used it this morning. 🙂
