Top 8…But We’re Talking Wedding Moments Not MySpacePosted on May 14, 2014 at 9:34 pm
Happy Wedding Wednesday…better late than never right? (;
So I was going to try to share my top 5 favorite moments from my wedding but I couldn’t get it down to less than 8 and I STILL feel like I’m leaving some really good parts out. But we’ll all survive.
Oh and guess what? I’ve decided to extend Wedding Wednesdays into June because we got back all of our wedding pictures this week and there are ummm… 800! I hope y’all aren’t getting tired of seeing them yet!
So here we go.
8 of My Favorite Wedding Day Moments
1. The look on my groom’s face as I walked down the aisle.
I mean C’MON, doesn’t every bride just die over this? Adam swore he wasn’t going to cry. Well clearly he was mistaken. He cried during the whole ceremony…sorry to call you out babe but it totally melted my heart (; When we locked eyes it truly was like it was just us out there. Everyone told me that would be the case, that I would be able to tune everyone else out, but it’s such a crazy feeling once it’s actually happening!
2. Getting ready all morning with my girls.
I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised with how smooth the morning of getting ready went. I thought for sure with 8 girls and both moms in the hotel room getting ready that things would be crazy town. It was actually really chill and super enjoyable. Praise the Lawd. Just goes back to what I said before…choose your bridesmaids carefully. Love you girls!
3. My Daddy picking me up to take me down the aisle.
Oh man. This was a really emotional moment. I have a certain picture (which you’ve already seen if you follow me on the gram) that I want to show y’all of this, but I’m saving it for next week’s wedding post…Pictures Worth More Than 1,000 Words. Anyway. My Daddy walked into the cottage to pick me up and we both lost it. It was a really special moment between us that I know neither one of us will ever forget. I’m definitely a Daddy’s Girl.
4. Dancing with my baby brother.
I use the phrase “baby” loosely…he’s younger (not by much), but I’ve always called him baby brother. I didn’t get to spend a lot of time with him during the wedding because I was being pulled in 2,000+ difference directions all night. But we finally had the chance to dance to our song, Wagon Wheel, right before mine & Adam’s grand sparker exit. It was such a blast, and the video is hilarious, because he’s belting out the words to me…
5. The first touch that Adam & I did before the ceremony.
We chose not to do a first look (and we are SO happy with this decision), but we still wanted to exchange gifts. So we opted for a first touch. I can’t tell you how much just holding his hand around a door calmed my nerves before I had to walk down that aisle. That right there tells me I married the right man (:
6. Our French teacher giving a surprise speech.
Adam & I met in French class in high school and we invited our French teacher to the wedding. We were SO excited when she RSVPed “yes” and even MORE excited when she asked us if she could say a few words at the reception. Her speech was so sweet and thoughtful and made us both tear up. Having her there brought us back to our French class roots…where it all started! Oh and she complimented my boobs, so obviously I loved having her there (;
7. Our first kiss.
I’ve always wanted to have a fun wedding kiss! Adam gave me just that! We did a little dip (may or may not have flashed the guests a little somethin-somethin, oops) and it was awesome. Best kiss of my life!
8. Our first dance.
We had close to zero practice for this and even though we’ve been together for almost 8 years, I can count the number of times we’ve slow danced on 1 hand. We didn’t really take our first dance too seriously. We were cracking jokes and laughing the entire time almost…it was perfect for us! We danced to the song Crazy Girl by Eli Young Band (crazy? who me?). I think Adam spent most of the minute that we danced attempting to serenade me..
There were so many breathtaking, memorable moments throughout our wedding day. These were just 8 that stood out to me. Don’t worry though, I’ll be bombarding y’all with at least another 5 weeks of Wedding Wednesday posts!
